Did you know that if you’ve been injured in an automobile accident in Alberta, you are entitled to accident benefits coverage regardless of whether you were at fault or not? The benefits you receive depend on the type of injury you have. Chiropractors are approved primary health care practitioners who are allowed to assess you for injuries sustained and diagnosis you.

You must contact your insurance company within 10 days of the accident and your auto insurance covers you for a minimum of 10 chiropractic treatments within 90 days of your accident for minor injuries under the Alberta Diagnostic Treatment Protocols Regulation.

Chiropractic treatment for minor injuries is billed directly to your insurance company. You do not have to submit receipts for reimbursement. Make sure you tell your chiropractor that you were injured in a car accident so they will fill out the forms to have your treatment costs covered.

Through a different automobile insurance program, every Albertan is entitled to $1000.00 of chiropractic care coverage for motor vehicle accident injuries (under Section B)
